This was India’s third Olympic appearance with bigger representation than for the previous two editions. The athletes set to represent India at the Paris 1924 Games were selected from the first ever Indian Olympic Games, held to bring about a sporting culture change in the sub-continent country. Team India was set to compete in Tennis event for the first time. It was also the first time that female athletes were representing India. The 13-member Indian contingent was:
