India’s appeared for the fourth time at the Commonwealth Games held in Cardiff, Wales. The India contingent competed in sports including Athletics, Boxing and Wrestling. Milkha Singh the legendary ‘Flying Sikh’ won India its first ever Gold Medal in Athletics in the history of the Commonwealth Games clocking an impressive 46.6 seconds in the Men’s 400 yards event. A second Gold Medal for the country was won by Lila Ram in Men’s Heavyweight Wrestling. Lachmi Kant Pandey also won a Silver Medal for the country in Wrestling
