India took part in its first ever modern Olympic Games during the second edition of the Summer Olympic Games held in Paris in 1900. Norman Pritchard, the only athlete representing India at the Games competed in the Men’s 200 meters and 200 meters hurdles. Finishing second in both the events Pritchard won India its first medals ever in Games history on its maiden appearance.
