A small but largest contingent ever of 4 athletes represented India at the 2006 Olympic Winter Games held in Turin, Italy. Team India participated in disciplines of Alpine Skiing, Cross-country skiing and Luge. Neha Ahuja, the second ever female athlete representing India in Women’s Alpine Skiing ranked 42nd and 51st in her Giant Slalom and Slalom events while Bahadur Gupta secured 78th rank in men's Cross-country Skiing sprint and Shiva Keshavan was ranked 25th in Luge Men's singles.
